About the Theater

The Embassy Theater is an independent twin-screen cinema. We show first-run movies of all kinds, from the small independent filmmaker to Hollywood blockbusters.

The building is known as the Embassy Performing Arts Center, or EPAC. It is the home of the Embassy Theater and Boston Rhythmic Gymnastics. The space offers a variety of gymnastics, acrobatic, and exercise classes, along with rental spaces for anyone to bring their ideas to life.

Our History

The name "Embassy" holds a lot of significance.

From the archives
Opened on April 9, 1928, this was advertised as "Waltham's Wonder Theatre." Located on Moody Street across the street from Grover Cronin, the Embassy Theatre was the city's favorite show palace. It was closed May 7, 1972 and was torn down in October 1972. In 1998, Landmark built a new Embassy Theatre behind the vacant lot where the original Embassy Theatre stood.
